TSL invites you to an afternoon workshop in which we will try to create a vision of South Lantau in 2029 by focusing in groups on the following topics:
Food and agriculture
Employment
Health
Energy and buildings
Education
Entertainment and the arts
Transport
Everyone will have the chance to move from one group to another every 15 minutes and each group will feedback its ideas at the end. We hope this will give us a preliminary vision to work towards during the coming years.
However, our ideas must be constrained by these factors:
1) Peak Oil (PO) – our globalised lifestyles are about to hit the wall of PO. We must drastically reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, especially oil, starting yesterday.
2) Global Warming (GW) – if we don’t cut our CO2 emissions dramatically in the next 20 years, we won’t have a future.
Where will the workshop be? – The China Beach Club, Mui Wo
When? – Saturday 27 June 2009 4-6.30pm
