Does anyone know what is happening here? clearly under renovation, by whom? HKF? and who is designing/ building it? it was well overdue. Just interested if anyone knows. Could be the best hotel in HK if handled properly.

yeap it is owned by the Miramar Hotel Group and probably CBH will be less than 1/1000 of the income in Miramar Group Balance Sheet with many commercial properties in Tsimshatsui like Miramar Hotel., Miramar Towers, Park Lane Shoppers Boulevard etc....
I have stayed here though the service OK and staff friendly etc..
The Weekend (Sat) Buffet is over prices at HK$268 + 10% SC which is a rip off....

I have never had the buffet. What is the food like?

Sometimes they have 'themed' buffets, but the normal one is large vats and plates of Chinese food, not particularly special and definitely overpriced, but you can eat as much as you want, if you can eat over HK$200 worth of cheap food at one sitting...

normally they have some chinese food with BBQ like a couple of Tiger Prawns and steaks as well as Indian naan bread and Indian curry like Lamb curry.
some Chinese/Western desserts and some kind of cheapo beer unlimited though you never had heard of.....
as a resident guest of the hotel., i got a 20-25% discount wich reduce some of the damage....
Paying $300 here is a real rip off and waaaaaay toooo much...
