River from Pui O to Ham Tin

Anyone else noticed but for the last few days this river is now bright green! Is this pollution or is it algae?

Probably pollution.

did you report it? and do you know if any action taken? i didn't see any fish floating belly up, but it was definitely pollution.

I spoke to the EPA and they did a site investigation.

They told me that they had put some green food colouring as part of an investigation to septic tank overflow in Pui O and it was not damaging.

I told them the river is not in the best shape anyway and they said they would look into it....

Visit to the river twice this weak. The water after the rain, flushed down some more sh.. from up-stream. It is getting smelly too. Suggest we address anther complain to EPA and cc to Lantau South Rural Committee. They have to learn to deal with it. Most problem was created from their end anyway.
