An Ode to Mui Wo
Bats and cats and random dogs
crickets, cicadas and noisy frogs
picking tea in the early dawn
growing Pak Choi, Choi Sum and corn
Biking slow and racing fast
hoping that the day will last
Scorching heat and warming rain
See the Lion dance again
Slopping to market in nylon shorts
Returning from sea with fish just caught
Shouting voices and barbeques
Drinking in the stunning views
Sandy feet and sunny faces
Tiny children having races
Funerals and banging drums
Waiting for Typhoons to come
Banana leaves and giant spiders
Watching river banks grow wider
Mountain streams crash down from high
Mozzy bites up on the thigh
Boats and cabs and bikes and cars
Bright blue skies and stars from Mars
Makes you never want to go
