Are there really houses on top of sunset peaks?
Does anyone live there????

They are just huts, for hikers I think.

They are pretty basic privately owned stone cabins. Some are available for rent at about $100 per night.
They were built, as I understand it, back in the 1920's or 1930's by missionaries working in China to have a place to stay cool in the summer. Originally they were on Tai Mo Shan but were destroyed in a typhoon.
There used to be an active community up there during the summer but I heard that stopped being the case in the late 80's or early nineties.

That sounds right. A friend who grew up in missionary community said he used to spend summers there in the 80s.

i have been up on sunset peak , the huts up there are cute and small and i think the man that you rent them off stays there every weekend:cool:
