Dear All
I had addressed a complain on Tuesday to EPD regarding a wide spread of unknown liquid found on the field right outside the little house on the path to the beach from Lo Uk Tsuen. On of the buffalos active area, the grass on the field lwas chemically burned . (anyone can help me how to insert photos here????)
An officier Mr. Ling from EPD just called and inquired exact location. I asked if the department can clean up the pollution. He said they can only come to inspect and find out where it was leaking from and report back to department. If it is on government land, land department will send source to remove the oil. If it is on private land, there nothing they can do. I asked if event an approval from villager head can give authority to clean the oil. He said only land owner have to do it. But land there were left 50yrs without attendant apart from the animals. Nothing they can do , he said.:mad:
I also requested if invesigation should be proceed for what caused to the damage. He said, they never try to do that before, but will consult their supervior if it is neccessary to do so. I said it was very neccessary , as we can address the problem to relavant department to follow up the case and plan for prevention in future. He said he will consult his supervisor if they need to do so.
