I have been having cantonese lessons in Mui Wo with Man Chun (9759 9410) and he is great! Very easy to understand, good teacher and patient (which is what I need!!) Good luck!

Hi - I'm in a group of 4 so we pay $160 each/2hr lesson...but if you give Man Chun a call he would be more than happy to have a chat...

As a student (and good friend) of Cecilie Gamst-Berg I would have to say that if you want some fun in your learning this is the way to go. As a non-native canto speaker she knows very well the difficulties students face, which sometimes a native speaker can't quite see. Totally depends on how good your language abilities are to begin with of course. No disrespect at all to the many excellent native canto teachers (and I understand Man Chun is one of them). Any situation which encourages Canto understanding is great. Find a teacher to suit yourself. It's not the impossible language everyone tells you it is and it is SO worth it to learn if you live here.

Thanks for the advice. It is for my 9 year old daughter. Her conversational cantonese is good and can read ok. Writing (which is difficult) could do with some more work!
I'll speak with Cecilie.
