My son went to Lantau international last year, he really enjoyed it. This year he is attending Mui Wo school, which is a Chinese medium school.
He enjoys it and he is getting a crash course in Cantonese. The teachers seem nice, patient, and helpful.
So, even-stevens really, just $5000(Mui Wo school is free) per month difference and if you want your kids to learn Cantonese or not.

P.s. Well done Superchops.

Hi,
My eldest daughter is in P1 at BOPS and we are really happy with it. She went to Tai O Kindergarten for two years prior to that, so she did already have a good grounding in Cantonese (my husband and I are not fluent).
Although Bui O is CMI school a large proportion of the student body is English speaking, so it is a little different to most local schools. If you decide to send a non-Chinese speaking child there, be prepared to offer lots of support and possibly arrange one-on-one tutoring to supplement.
The school is slowly converting to Mandarin as it's medium of instruction, so if your child can cope he or she will really have a language advantage.
My main fear about sending our children to a local school was that it would be no fun, but actually they have a great time there (although they do work hard) and it's a very happy environment.

I have no personal experience of LIS, but I do know a couple of the teachers, who are very dedicated.

Do let me know if you have any more specific questions about BOPS.

How is the social situation within these schools? Do you find all the gwaijai's hang out together and the Honkies do their own thing or do they mix it up? We have a toddler now but in the coming years will need to think about what schooling situation will be best for him not only academically but socially.
